This minimalistic project in Stamford, Lincolnshire is the perfect example of how a little bit of Pura® NFC can go a long way. Homeowner Elaine Proctor has transformed the old store of her home with Pura® NFC, which works to infuse her traditional, brick-built home with a pocket of poise and finesse.
Elaine, proud owner of a home immaculately clad in Pura® NFC, was impressed by the quality of the material. Elaine said: “We are so extremely pleased with the cladding. Everybody that has come and seen it, neighbours and friends, have complimented it.
“It was the only one on the market that did not feel plasticky. A lot of them have an artificial, wood-effect, but Pura® NFC didn't which is what attracted us initially.”
Pura® NFC is made of up to 70% natural fibres, which go through an advanced in-house developed manufacturing process called Electron Beam Curing. The advanced technology helps create a barrier to minimise dirt build-up, make cleaning easy, and provide UV stability. This helps to give the cladding a premium, wood-like feel and not ‘plasticky’ as Elaine mentioned.

Elaine selected PU17 Aged Ash from our selection of nine wood decors, to match her cladding with a similar colour to her existing property as well as meeting requirements of the local council. The cladding’s natural appearance creates an absorbing visual impact as it transitions from the weathered allure of the ageing bricks into the contemporary style of Pura® NFC. This transition is emphasised by the continuation of the brickwork effect with the Pura® NFC planks.
Elaine said: "We're in a conservation area, and we wanted something to tone in with the heritage brickwork that we have. We're not in a modern house so we didn't want to go down the grey route that you see a lot now. It was the better colour match to compliment the brick tone.”
You can choose to organise the planks whichever way you like, whether that be a scattered approach, the brickwork effect as chosen by Elaine, or a more organised and streamlined design. Elaine continued: “Behind the wall was breeze blocks because it used to be an old cold store. Previously, there was just vertical wood and the council said to use the same bricks as the rest of the house, but the bricks are so old that we couldn’t get any to match.
“Rather than doing a botched job with bricks that didn’t match we went down the cladding route.”
This transformation has worked to give her home a new lease of life. This small extension to her home looks unrecognisable from before and all whilst complementing the natural surroundings of the local area.
